Thanks Joe. I think a lot of the Middle East wicked problem is the neighborhood-at the crossroads of the world. Add religion to geography, and its a dumpster fire.....
My mind is reeling from all that back and forth and changing of players. Hard to grasp the timeline of events is centuries not years, per se. I currently live in the heart of the former Mayan World. They have a similar history of building, expansion, conflict, succession of rulers, more conflict, and then famine and diaspora. This too was a centuries-long affair with twists and turns. I wonder if it is just human nature being described. Something innate that can’t be changed or altered as much as we try. Water finds its own level.
